School children to face national achievement survey test

Education Ministry has selected 230 schools from Nagpur, of which Std 3, 5, 8, 10 students shall write the test on November 12 
 
The Education Ministry of Central Government is conducting National Achievement Survey all over the country on Friday, November 12, 2021. A test incorporating English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Modern Indian Language (MIL) will be conducted. The selected students from selected 230 schools of Nagpur city and rural will write the test. The schools run by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), of State Board, those run by Zilla Parishad, Municipal Corporation are participating in this survey. Dr Harshalata Burade, Principal, District Institute of Education and Training (Diet) is the District Nodal Officer while P Nirupama Iyer, Principal of Bhavan’s B P Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar is the District-level Co-ordinator for this test. Dr Burade will be monitoring every minute thing of this activity.
 
Dr Burade, while speaking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed, “Under national survey, these 230 schools are selected by the Central Government. Children of Class 3, 5, 8 and 10 will write the test. In some schools, the students of Class 3 will be tested. Likewise, in some schools, the students of Class 5 will write the test. Not all schools have all the classes to face the test but there are some schools where students of Class 3, 5, 8 and 10 will appear in the test to be conducted on November 12.” Nirupama Iyer stated, “The 30 selected children will appear in this test be held in offline mode. The chits of names of students will be put in the box and school heads would themselves pick the chits of 30 students randomly. These students would write the test.” There will be Field Investigator appointed by Dr Harshlata Burade and the Observer will be selected by Nirupama Iyer. The observer will be selected from the schools run by CBSE. Students appearing in the test will write the examination in their own schools to be treated as test centres. Dr Mrunalini Dasture, Principal of The South Public School commented, “This is a very good idea and has total transparency. Whatever students write will be assessed in a meticulous manner.
 
Whatever I understood, I feel the examination will test the ability of students’ from personality to operational skills, his or her numerical abilities, grasping power etc. Government has brought New Education Policy and so it is trying to change the perspective, introducing new things that would enhance the academic skills of students.” Field Investigator is expected to remain present at 7.30 am in school while Observer will reach at 8.30 am. The examination will be held between 8 am and 2 pm so students are asked to carry their tiffins, drinking water so that they would not remain hungry. The examination would be conducted by following the COVID norms. Students of Class 3 and 5 will write examination between 10.30 am and 12 noon while the timing for Class 8 and 10 is 10.30 to 12.30 noon.
