DINANATH Academy scored a thrilling two-wicket win over Centurion Gymkhana in last over of opening match of Golden Jubilee Year of Karnewar Trophy at RPF ground in Ajni on Monday. Making first use of the turf, Centurion made 221 before being all out in 40 overs. Harsh Waghade and Harsh Lilare scored 46 and 33 respectively. For Dinanath, Anuj Tiwari and Rohan Sharma picked two wickets each.

 

Chasing the target, Dinanath’s Soren Gulhane (55, 8x4) and Aryan Selokar (52, 7x4) hit fifties to guide home with two wickets and two balls remaining. Earlier, former Vidarbha Ranji Trophy skipper Suhas Phadkar inaugurated the event and felicitated Adv Jagdish Karnewar for turning 75. Naim Razzak, Izrar Hussain and others were prominently present. Secretary of Vidarbha Gymkhana Omkar Karnewar conducted the proceedings while Pankaj Bhadang proposed a vote of thanks.
