Collector takes stock of preparations for urban body election

After the announcement of election dates of urban bodies in the state Durg Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and SSP Badrinarayan Meena inspected the preparations for the elections in the urban bodies on Wednesday. They reached Bhilai, Bhilai-Charoda, Risali and Jamul urban bodies. Here they took stock of the preparations of nomination room, strong room and the counting room. The collector also visited the rooms of the returning officers and gave instructions in this regard. The collector also saw the necessary preparations for the process of nomination and inquired in detail about the works of scrutiny etc. Along with this, he also saw strong rooms and counting rooms in urban bodies. Here the officer’s duo also took stock of the preparations related to security. The collector told the officials that the counting room should be organized and there should be enough space. The Collector directed the officers to ensure that the Model Code of Conduct is followed and to work as per the instructions of the State Election Commission. He said that all preparations should be made on time limit.
 
Collector inspected Government Higher Secondary School in Risali, Kalyan College in Bhilai, Late Khubchand Baghel College in Bhilai-3 and Higher Secondary School in Jamul. During this, ADM Nupur Rashi Panna, Additional Collector Padmini Bhoi, Bhilai Corporation Commissioner Prakash Sarve, Addition SP Sanjay Dhruv, Deputy District Election Officer Khemlal Verma, Bhilai Charoda Corporation Commissioner Kirtiman Rathore, Risali Corporation Commissioner Ashish Dewangan and other officers were present. Later collector while addressing the media persons in this regard gave information regarding the election process. He said that for Risali, Nupur Rashi Panna, Padmini Bhoi for Bhilai, Vipul Gupta for Bhilai-3 Charoda and Jageshwar Kaushal for Jamul has been appointed as the returning officers. He said that the covid protocol will be taken care of during the election.
 
Sanitizer will be arranged. Patients suffering from covid will also be able to vote, for this special arrangement will be made in the last hour. During this SSP Badrinarayan Meena was also present. He said that 426 are sensitive centers and 10 are vulnerable centres. In these, full care is being taken of safety. During this, District Election Officer Khemlal Verma was also present.
