Demand to connect Bhopal with airlines of major cities of country

Revenue and Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput has requested the Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for expansion of air services for the development of Madhya Pradesh. Minister Rajput, in his letter to Union Minister Scindia, has make the services of Air India’s night flights from Bhopal to New Delhi, 3 days a week, to 5 days as they were operated earlier. Similarly, he said that air service should be started from Bhopal to Rewa, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. Connect Bhopal air services to India and abroad Transport Minister Rajput informed that to promote tourism and business in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, there is a need to start flights from here to different places of the country and abroad. In this sequence, direct airlines can be operated from Bhopal to Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Goa.
 
Apart from this, there is no air facility available from Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi in Khajuraho, the main international tourist destination of Madhya Pradesh, the government is considering to make it an international airport. Due to the lack of direct air service, tourists coming here are facing problems. Therefore, he has requested to start air service soon to connect Khajuraho with major cities of the country including Bhopal. In the regional connectivity scheme, keeping in mind the airlines operating in Jabalpur and Gwalior and the airlines going to be operated from Rewa, Bhopal airport should be declared as RCS airport and more and more flights should be operated from here. Minister Rajput said that a cargo hub has been made at Bhopal airport. Tenders have been issued for maintenance, repair and overhaul arrangements at Bhopal airport, action is being taken in this regard soon.
