Government of India’s subsidiary Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) is Maharatna Company. Akhilesh Jain has been appointed as Director (Independent) by a committee on the recommendation of Cabinet Committee headed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. GAIL (India) is a public sector unit under Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry.
