64th N’tnl Shooting C’ship: MP players bag whopping 10 medals on 2nd last day

The players of Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy mounted flags of victory in the events held on Thursday, on the second-last day of 64th National Rifle Shooting Championship, ongoing at MP Shooting Academy, Bisankhedi, Bhopal. The splendid shooters from MP bagged a total of 10 medals, including 8 gold medals in the 50-m Prone competition which took place on Thursday. With this acquisition, the total medal tally of Madhya Pradesh stands at 42. Ace shooter of MP Academy, Bandhvi Singh, laid her hands on a total of 8 gold medals, in which she bagged 4 of them in individual events while the other 4 fell in to her kitty in the group events. Other stellar shooters from MP also left no stone unturned in delivering their best, among whom Ashi clinched 2 bronze medals while Ankita, Srishti, Mansi and Sunidhi also ended up becoming medal recipients.
 
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia has extended heartfelt congratulations to the mesdal-winners of the competition. The finals of 10-m Air Rifle Main Relay event will be held on Friday, which will commence at 10:15 am and the juniors and youth competitions of the same event will be played from 12 pm until 2 pm. This will be followed by a victory ceremony which will begin at 3 pm and the prizes distribution will take place in the evening. The championship, held under the joint aegis of Sports and Youth Welfare Department and Indian National Rifle Association will wrap up on Friday evening.
