Bagheli, Gond Swaraj songs mesmerise audience

Swaraj Samaroh, put forth by Janjatiya Lok Kala evam Boli Vikas Academy and centered on Swaraj songs (songs of patriotism) began on Tuesday. Notably, the programme will continue till December 16 at MP Tribal Museum, Bhopal. The inaugural ceremony of the programme commenced in the presence of Director of Culture, Aditi Kumar, Director of Janjatiya Lok Kala evam Boli Vikas Academy, Dr Dharmendra Pare, museum keeper, Tribal museum, Ashok Mishra and painter of Bhil community and Padmashree awardee, Bhuri Bai alongside other officials. A painting exhibition is also laid on the occasion, in which 28 paintings outlined by various painting artists of the Bhil community have been put on display. Lamps were lighted in front of the paintings on the inaugural ceremony.
 
The cultural programme unleashed with the arrival of Roopram Kushram and companions from Dindori, who voiced the Gond Tribal swaraj songs. During the course of the performance, the mellifluent cultural group sang a number of songs, including Reena, Karma-thaadi, Saila-Reena dadra, Karma Jhoomar, Dadra, Faag jhula, Karma- Tiranga Jhanda and the patriotic song ‘Bharat ki jai bolo’. This was followed by the staging of Bagheli swaraj songs led by Arvind Patel and fellow cultural artists. The group lifted voice on the invigorating Bagheli patriotic renditions such as ‘Bharat Mata’, ‘Humse na kara’, ‘Dekha Puruv mein’, ‘Likh likh chithiya’, ‘Bachava dada’ and ‘Pahili Sumiron’ to instill a sense of patriotism in the audience. On Wednesday, Tripti Nagar and companions from Ujjain will present the Malwi Swaraj songs, which will then be succeeded by Bundeli Swaraj songs by Kapil Chourasiya and team from Sagar.
