‘Bachelor of Vocation’ launched at St Vincent Pallotti College of Engg & Technology, Nagpur

ST VINCENT Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur has introduced ‘Bachelor of Vocation’ (B.Voc.) three year degree course approved by AICTE and Government of Maharashtra, on December. It purely concentrates on soft and technical skills, under the guidelines provided by NSQF. At the launch, the chief guest Dr Rajendra Kakde, Advisor-1, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), in his address highlighted the need for vocational education in India and encouraged students to opt for vocational education. He also mentioned that B.Voc. is based on New Education Policy (NEP 2020).
 
Guest of honour, Sachin Mhaske, Regional Lead (NASSCOM), elaborated about the technical contents of B.Voc. courses which are designed in collaboration with 30 plus IT industries as per the current trend. Guest of honour, Dr Anant Marathe, Principal, HVPM College of Engineering and Technology, Amravati, emphasised on the need of vocational education system as value addition to life and a combination of skill sets required for employability. The function was attended by parents, experts and students in online and offline mode. The function was followed by an exhibition based on application of Python and Robotics. The exhibits of the exhibition were developed by 184 semester students of B.Voc. All the guests appreciated the efforts taken by 18 year old students for developing the Python based modules. This programme was coordinated by Dr Suresh Rangankar, and team of faculty members of the Vocation Department.
