In presence of sports stars, Gadkari to announce KKM dates

The Khasdar Krida Mahotsav Season 4, which will begin in the month of January, 2022, will see rise in number of events with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announcing the dates of the events at a function on Saturday. The announcement of dates and launching of coffee table book of KKM will be held at Suresh Bhat Sabhagrah at Reshimbagh at 12.30 pm with London hockey Olympian Sandeep Singh and Indian star badminton player Jwala Gutta adding glamour to the event. Addressing a press conference, Sandip Joshi, Convenor of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav said that this season they are planning to increase the number of sports events. In the last three seasons, 28 sports events were conducted at different venues across the city.
 
KKM could not be held last year due to COVID. “This year we have decided to increase the number of sports events. The final decision and events will be announced on the morrow,” said Joshi. Sandeep Singh, an Arjuna award winner, is Minister of State for Sports in Haryana while Jwala is Arjuna Award winner in badminton. Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari and MLC Chandrashekhar Bawankule will be the chief guests. Member of Parliament Vikas Mahatme, former MLC Sulekha Kumbhare, MLC Pravin Datke, MLC Ajay Sancheti, former MP Krishna Khopde, MLA Girish Vyas, MLC Mohan Mate, MLA Vikas Kumbhare and MLC Nago Ganar will be guests of honour. Former Mayor Sandip Joshi is the chief convenor of the event. NMC Sports Officer Piyush Ambulkar, Nagesh Sahare, Padmakar Charmode Dr Sambhaji Bhosale, Dr Vivek Awasare, Sachin Deshmukh, Ashfaque Sheikh, Amit Sampat, Satish Wade, Sachin Mathane, Sunil Manekar, Laxmikant Kirpane, Ashish Mukim and Prakash Chandrayan are the organising committee members. The presser was also attended by Ambulkar, Nagesh Sahare and Ashish Mukin.
