Marking the occasion of World Disabled Day, the two-day event inaugurated with Divyang Jan Sammelan at Gitadham Gwarighat on Thursday. Various sports and skill-based competitions will be organised at Pandit Ravishankar Stadium on December 3. The Divyang Jan Sammelan was inaugurated in presence of Shri Mahamandleshwar Saint Shri Ishwaranandji Maharaj, Swami Girishanand Saraswatiji Maharaj, Shri Hanumandasji Maharaj, MLA, Ajay Vishnoi, Vinay Saxena, Commissioner, Disability, Madhya Pradesh, Sandeep Rajak, Dr Jitendra Jamdar, Tapan Bhoumik, former President, MP Tourism Development Corporation, Deepankar Banerji, former Commissioner, Disability, Baldeep Singh Maini, former Commissioner, Disability, Collector Karmveer Sharma and others. Over 230 specially-abled participants who attended Divyang Jan Sammelan at Gitadham underwent health check-up done by the District Medical Board. Based on which, they were issued disability certificates.

 

Simultaneously, ALIMPCO identified beneficiaries who needed artificial limbs and supportive equipments. Whereas, the beneficiaries who were identified by ALIMPCO previously were distributed with supportive equipments and limbs as per their requirement. The organising committee also provided significant information regarding job and self-employment to the specially-abled persons. The experts informed that UDID cards of the specially abled participants will be issued. LIC conducted selection process to provide job to the Divyang Jan at the event venue. More than 40 organisations and individuals who made extraordinary efforts for disabled welfare also were felicitated.
