The 30th All-India Inter-Railway RPF Volleyball Competition was inaugurated at Jabalpur Railway stadium on Thursday. Shobhan Chaudhuri, Additional General Manager (AGM), West Central Railway (WCR) graced the occasion as chief guest. The RPF personnel and volleyball players conducted March Past. Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, AGM Chaudhuri said, “Our country is celebrating Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav in which Indian Railways is playing a leading role. Around 275 male and women players of 23 teams are participating in the competition.” He said that some players participating in the volleyball competition have represented RPF in National-level competitions. Elaborating further, he said that Indian Railways is making continuous efforts to promote sports at Zonal level and Divisional level.
 
For the match, men and women players from different zones are participating in the competition. In the men's category, around 205 players from 16 zones are participating in the competition. In the women's category, 74 players from 7 zones are participating in the event. In the men's category, 32 matches will be played and 13 matches will be organised in women's category. In the inaugural ceremony, first match was played between West Central Railway and Eastern Central Railway. Principal Chief Safety Commissioner Pradeep Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Biswas, Senior Divisional Safety Commissioner (Jabalpur Division) Arun Kumar Tripathi and senior officers of West Central Railway and District Administration were present.
