ON A cool Sunday morning, Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA)ground witnesse dan interestingtussle between judges and lawyers who astonished the audience with almost professional cricketing performance. Star attraction of this friendly match was none other than Chief Justice ofIndia Sharad Bobde who played some amazing shots winning accolades from spectators consistingo flawyers,sitting and former judges. Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Dipankar Datta,who opened the batting for Judges XI gave a tough time to Lawyers XI scoring some boundaries.Senior Administrative Judge Nitin Jamdar scored 31 runs including five impressive fours. SeniorHigh Courtjudge Prasanna Varale remained not out at 51 with 8 boundaries.

Justice Nitin Sambre, Justice Atul Chandurkar, Justice Amit Borkar also displayed theirbattingskills.SupremeCourt Judge Bhushan Gavai, Justice SunilShukre andJusticeZAHaq, though part of the squad, could not bat and the Judges XI scored acompetitive 138 runsin 20 overs.
 
Retired senior administrative judge Ravi Deshpande continued his participation, this time from Lawyers side and demonstrated his fitness and mastery over bowling and took two wickets. Witty commentary by Justice Vinay Deshpande made the entire match highly enjoyable for the crowd as his comments spared no one and evoked peels of laughter. LawyersXIheadedbyPBPatil chased the score but the judges gave thema very toughfight and took sevenwicketsbefore losing the match in a nail-biting finish. ShridharPurohitwith85runs, Anand Deshpande with 24, and MehrozPathanwithunbeaten29 played major role in securing victory.
 
Shreerang Bhandarkar, who ably saved runs as wicketkeeper, remained unbeaten at seven. Abhay Sambre, Sudhir Puranik, Sudhanshu Joshi, Mehroz Pathan, Praful Khubalkar, Pratik Puri, Rajesh Tiwariwereotherteammembers. VCA President Anand Jaiswal, manyseniorlawyersenjoyedthe match. CJI Bobde had played at the same venue last year as well and expressed happiness on being part of this game.
