Umesh among 5 Vid players in IPL auction

Auction on Feb 18 VIDARBHA Express Umesh Yadav, who has been released from Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, figures among five players from Vidarbha in Indian Premier League auction list that was announced in Mumbai on Thursday. As many as 292 cricketers are set to go under the hammer in Chennai on February 18. The 33-year-old, right-arm fast bowler Yadav, who has been previously part of Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders and RCB, has kept his base price at Rs one crore.
 
He and Test specialist Hanuma Vihari are the only two Team India players in the list. Yadav has played 48 Tests, 75 One-Day International and seven Twenty20 Internationals apart form 121 IPL matches. Other Vidarbha players in the list are Apoorv Wankhade, Akshay Wakhare, Saurabh Dubey and Nachiket Bhute. Base price of all the players is Rs 20 lakh. Explosive batsman Wankhade has been dropped from Vidarbha one-day team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
 
The 29-year-old right-hand batsman has played for Mumbai Indians and KKR in the past. Senior Vidarbha off-spinner Akshay Wakhare and speedsters Dubey and Bhute were part of the bowling staff for Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab respectively. Six feet four inches tall Dubey is a left-arm fast bowler and trained under MI bowling coach Zaheer Khan. Promising right-am speedster Bhute has been included in Vidarbha team for Vijay Hazare Trophy. Young all-rounder Darshan Nalkande is the only Vidarbha player in the IPL and is associated with Kings XI Punjab.
