The action has been taken after 38 workers sustained injuries at their Bhugaon plant at Wardha 
 
Uttam Metallics, one of the largest manufacturers of cold-rolled steel and galvanised steel, has been advised by Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Nagpur to suspend production with immediate effect. The production will remain suspended till the probe is completed. The action has been taken after 38 workers sustained injuries at their Bhugaon plant located about 85 km from Nagpur.
 
The Regional state administration led by Pallavi Gampawar, Deputy Director of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Nagpur, visited the plant on Sunday. She advised the management of Uttam Mettalics to follow best practices and guidelines at the Bhugaon plant where an accident took place in blast furnace. Blast furnace is a molten metal pot from where hot air was leaked. The Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Nagpur also took all details pertaining to the accident. The comprehensive report of the accident will be submitted to the District Collector soon. Sunil Kedar, Guardian Minister for Wardha District and Bachchu Kadu, Minister of State for Water Resources, School Education, Woman & Child Development, Labour, visited the plant.
