JMC officials and Bengal Club members taking a pledge of cleanliness while opening of Bartan (Utensil) Bank.

In order to give impetus to the ongoing public awareness works under Swachh Survekshan 2021, the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has set up "Bartan Bank" (Utensil Bank) at Bengali Club and urged citizens to avoid use of plastic carry bags. Speaking on the occasion, Municipal Commissioner, Anoop Kumar Singh said every small step counts to save environment. He said to make Jabalpur Disposable Goods Free City, the JMC with due support of City Bengali Club set up a Utensil Bank.
He said the main objective of establishment of the Bank is to stop the use of disposable utensils in family and social events in the city and to use steel utensils to keep the environment clean and maintain proper cleanliness. Singh said the Municipal Corporation is carrying out public awareness works at various levels to make Jabalpur no. 1 city in cleanliness. Under the same, it is taking due support of social, educational, business, religious organizations and others institutions and also motivating them to work towards cleanliness.
Later, senior officials administered the oath of cleanliness to one and all present on the occasion. Those present were Prakash Saha, President of Bengali Club, Additional Commissioner of JMC, Parmesh Jalote, Assistant Commissioner and Sanitation In-charge Ekta Agrawal, Bengali club members Narendra Nath Mukherjee, Ashish Ghosh, Neeladri Chatterjee, I B Rudra and others.
