Health Minister, TS Singh Deo inspected the construction work of Ambikapur Medical College at Gangapur here on Monday. He directed the officials to provide electricity, water supply and sewerage in blocks where construction work is already completed in next seven days, so that girls hostel can be started in the campus. Health Minister said near hostel, vehicle parking facility should be done and it should have come in layout. He asked the officials of Municipal Corporation to prepare plan under Amrit Mission to supply water upto sump-well. He directed Public Health Engineering and Municipal Corporation to prepare pipeline project.
 
He asked the officials to decide priority for construction of building in medical college premises for block number three-four. Health Minister Singh Deo inaugurated state’s first Skills Lab at Ambikapur Medical College. He inspected the models present in the skills lab for the students. Experts informed that the lab will be helpful for first year medical students in practical studies.
 
Induction session of newly admitted students was addressed by Health Minister. In his address Singh Deo said Doctors play major role in society and they help patients to overcome pains and make them live longer. It was informed that this year 99 students took admission in first year. Mayor Dr Ajay Tirkey, Medical College Dean Dr R Murthy, Medical Superintendent Dr Lakhan Singh and other officials were present on the occasion.
