To see the efforts being made by the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) to make Jabalpur a plastic bag-free city, MLA Ashok Rohani visited Bhawartal Garden and inspected the Thaila Bank (Bag Bank). On the occasion he also granted Rs 15,000 from the MLA fund and said efforts should be made to establish bag bank in all wards of the city. Rohani said the efforts of Municipal Corporation is not enough to bring the city to the first position in cleanliness, active participation of citizens and various organizations and institutions is also necessary. Till the day, nearly 700 hundreds people have exchanged their unused old clothes with new bags from the bank.

Municipal Commissioner, Anoop Kumar Singh said the Union and State Government has asked to check use of plastic carry bags during Swachh Survekshan 2021.
