Dr Ambedkar College Sports Academy (DACSA) emerged champions in the VCA Under-19 Inter-Academy One-Day Cricket Tournament at the VCA Civil Lines ground on Wednesday. DACSA registered a convincing 59 runs over Ruby Colts in the final. Electing to bat, DACSA scored 232 for 8 in their stipulated 50 overs and then shot out the opponents for 173 in 48.1 overs. DACSA openers Viraj Mundhada (65; 120b, 6x4) and Siddhesh Kantode gave the team a reasonable start adding 44 runs in 11 overs.
 
After that Viraj and Satyam Bhoyar (72; 71b, 7x4, 2x6) got going accumulating 119 runs from 149 balls for the second wicket. After dismissal of Bhoyar, the team lost momentum and could not reach even 250. For Ruby, Devesh Charote picked three wickets for 33 runs. In pursuit of the moderate target, Ruby were well on course at the half way stage. They were 96-1 in 25 overs. Bhoyar (2-35) came to the rescue of team with the ball getting two important wickets. Then Tejas Soni (7.1-2-15-4) ran through the middle and lower order for a comfortable win. Bhoyar was named man of the final and most valuable player of the tournament.
