MAHARASHTRA defeated West Bengal to clinch the Koshish Foundation organised T20 All India Cricket Tournament for Disabled on Thursday. In the final played at Dhanwate National College’s Vasant Nagar ground, Maharashtra, led by Nagpur’s Gurudas Raut, thrashed West Bengal by 60 runs to claim the title. Batting first, Maharashtra posted 153 runs from 19.4 overs. Lower order batsman Sachin Harishchandra top scored for Maharashtra with 72 runs. His 37-ball knock was laced with seven balls to the fence and five over it. Anand Ghogaliya, Kalpesh Patil and Mayur Chaudhary scored identical 15 runs each.
 
For West Bengal, Manish Kumar was the most successful bowler with four wickets. Surajit Tikadar and Tushar Paul took two each while Rajkumar Ghosh took one. In reply, West Bengal were bundled out for 93 runs in 16.4 overs. Ghosh was the highest scorer for his side with an unbeaten 37 runs while Satiur Rahman scored 16 and Rajat Biswas added 14. For Maharashtra, Ravi Patil took three wickets while Ravindra Sante and Kalpesh Gaikar took two each. Vikrant Keni and Sachin Harishchandra took one apiece.
 
Maharashtra’s Ravindra Sante was declared man of the series. Team-mate Ravi Patil was declared as best bowler of the tournament while captain Gurudas Raut was named as the best fielder. Anand Ghogaliya, also of Maharashtra, won the best wicketkeeper award. The winning team received a glittering trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. West Bengal had to be content with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50,000. Riddhi Deshmukh, Secretary, Koshish Foundation was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. Hemant Gandhi, Raje Madhoji Bhonsale, Ravi Chavhan, Secretary, Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India, Sanjay Bhoskar, Sudhir Baheti and others were also present.
