The officials and staff of Police Headquarters (PHQ) on Saturday bid emotional farewell to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) H R Manhar who achieved the age of superannuation. Besides, a Sub Inspector of Special Branch and Head Constable of Crime Investigation Department were also given farewell in the PHQ. Notably, after serving the police department for 31 years, Manhar achieved the age of superannuation on February 27.
 
In 31 years career, Manhar had served in undivided Madhya Pradesh, several districts of Chhattisgarh which include Bilaspur, Surguja, Balrampur, Raipur, Ramanujganj, Bemetara, Janjgir-Champa, Koriya and PHQ. Manhar was conferred upon Indian Police Service (IPS) award in 2013. SI (Special Branch) Chandrasekhar Shukla and Head Constable (CID) Chandramani Tiwari were also given farewell in PHQ on Saturday.
 
The farewell ceremony was attended by Special Director General (Planning and Provisioning) R K Vij, SDG (Naxal-operation) Ashok Juneja, Additional Director General Himanshu Gupta, Raipur Range Inspector General (IG) Dr Anand Chhabra and other senior officials.
