COMPLETING his first leg of adventure swimming in Arabian Sea, city swimmer Jayant Duble established a new record by crossing the distance of 24 km between Chapora Fort to Aguada Fort with a timing of 4 hours 50 minutes on Thursday. JD Sports Youth Foundation organised the Adventure Sea Swimming Expedition at Goa under FIT India Movement. Duble plunged into water from Chapora Fort in the presence of Observers of Goa Swimming Association (a unit of Swimming Federation of India).

At the starting point, Chapora River meets the Arabian Sea due to which the strong currents make it hard to swim ahead. But Duble overcame those and a lot of jelly fishes and other fishes including dolphins during the course of swimming. During his swim, water sports activities and speed boats at Baga beach and Calangut beach created lots of waves which caused difficulties. Duble successfully completed the expedition in front of Aguada Fort. He was accompanied by his coach and father Dr Jaiprakash Duble, mother Archana, Director of Expedition Subodh Sule and others.
