All the Government girls hostels in State to be named as Matoshree
Expressing the need to promote Sanskrit, Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant on Friday announced that four sub-centres of Kavigulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) would be started in State. Samant was speaking to mediapersons at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande hall on Friday. He was in Nagpur to conduct his activity ‘Higher and Technical Education Mantralaya at your University’. He listened to various problems, responded to those, assured to find the solution. The office-bearers of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) and KKSU were present in the hall.
 
Admiring the efforts of KKSU, Samant said, “University is doing the best work of spreading the Sanskrit and our Government would provide full support to the university.” Samant has assured to confer Kalidas Sanskrit Sadhana awards next month. These awards remained pending for the last five years.
 
RTMNU is completing its 100 years of existence in 2023. Samant said the centenary of this historic university would be celebrated in a grand manner. He has announced that a committee under Dr Nitin Raut, Guardian Minister, would be set up to prepare plan for the celebration. He has assured that the funds would be given for the same.
 
On Friday, Samant had inaugurated hostel constructed by KKSU at Ramtek. The hostel was given the name Matoshree. Making mention of that development, Samant declared that all the Government girls hostels in Maharashtra will be named as Matoshree. He has showed readiness to discuss the issue of constructing new hostels for boys and girls of RTMNU with Dhananjay Munde, Minister of Social Justice.
 
Expressing his displeasure over the lack of co-ordination by Management Council of RTMNU with Government, Samant said, “Though Management Council is an autonomous body, it should have good communication with the Higher and Technical Education Department. It will help them in resolving the problems. He also has asked officials to keep good relations with Guardian Minister. Several organisations related to teaching and non-teaching staff met Samant and discussed their problems. He assured them to resolve the same at Government level.”
