The unique Maa Mukteshwari Dham temple situated at Beena Sangam, 25 kms away from Nagpur city is all set to celebrate Mahashivratri festival

Lord Shiva is the supreme reality. The five actions in the universe -- Shrushti (Creation), Sthiti (Sustenance) Samhar (Annihilation), Anugraha (Grace) and Vilaya (Dissolution) are being conducted by this supreme reality known as Shiva. In other words, the universe is the reflection of Supreme Shiva, the absolute and self-radiant. According to Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, “Mahashivratri is a festival of this Supreme reality as on this day Shiv Tattava is thousand times more active as compared to other days.

“The shivpindi which is worshipped on Mahashivratri emits waves of Knowledge, Devotion and Renunciation. Predominantly ‘sattva’ waves of knowledge, ‘raja’ waves of devotion and ‘tama’ waves of Renunciation (Vairagya) are emitted by the ‘Shivpindi’. During Mahashivratri, the emission increases by 30 percent,” the samiti said. If this is the case with Shivpindi, then there is a very unique temple which has ‘Ashtapindi shivlinga’. This temple is probably the only temple of its kind in the world. Chandrashekhar Asthapinda Shivlinga is placed in Maa Mukteshwari Dham at Beena Sangam which is just 25 kms from Nagpur city. This unique temple is a creation of a single man Chandrashekhar Mudliar, a computer teacher who through his spiritual research developed this unique shivlinga. According to Chandrashekhar Mudliar, ‘Shiv Linga has three parts. The bottom part which is four-sided remains underground, the middle part which is eight-sided remains on a pedestal.

The top part, which is actually worshipped, is round. The three parts symbolise Brahma at the bottom, Vishnu in the middle and Shiva on the top. The pedestal is provided with a passage for draining away the water that is poured on the top.” “Ashtapindi Shvlinga has eight pedestals facing towards all eight directions like: four main directions including East, West, North and four secondary directions including North-East, North-West, South-East and South-West. All these directions represent entire human life right from birth to death. Just by worshipping the Ashtapinda Shivlings, one could get rid of all materialistic as well as spiritual problems,” Mudliar said. Maa Mukteshwari temple is a unique blend of Shiva as well as Shakti forms of supreme reality. It has dash mahavidyas, nine durgas, seven sacred rivers, saptarishis, 12 jyotirlinga, dashs avatars, Ashtamukhi Ganesh, Kartikeya, Navgraha etc. On Maharashivratri one could get a real spiritual experience just by visiting this temple at Beena Sangam.
