NMC opens 11 vaccination centres at UPHCs

 

 

 

To curb the spread of COVID-19, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has opened 11 new vaccination centres at its urban primary health centres (UPHC). These centres would start inoculating citizens from Wednesday between 9 am to 5 am. People above 60 years of age and those suffering from various diseases between 45 and 59 years of age will be vaccinated in the first phase. Those having co-morbidity need to furnish a certification from a doctor mentioning the ailment. Now vaccination is arranged in 72 centres within city and it is free in Government run hospital while Rs. 250 is being charged at private hospitals.

 

Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari and Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B had recently held a review meeting and directed civic officials to increase the number of vaccination centres. Now Medical Health Department of NMC will start providing jabs to citizens at Indora Primary Civil Health Centre, Kapil Nagar Civil Health Centre, Pardi Primary Civil Health Centre, Shanti Nagar Primary Civil Health Centre, Hansapuri Ayurvedic Dispensary, Nandanvan Primary Civil Health Centre, Babulkheda Primary Civil Health Centre, Manewada Primary Civil Health Centre, Khamla Ayurvedic Dispensary, Late Prabhakarrao Datke Mahal Diagnosis Centre and AYUSH Hospital Sadar, said a civic press release. So far, vaccinations were being carried out in 17 government hospitals and 55 private hospitals. Free registration has also been arranged in the zonal offices of the NMC. Due to registration, there is no need to stay in the hospital for a long time for vaccination, informed Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi.
