“Ordnance Factories are the largest and oldest defence organisations of the nation and have a vital role in adding up fire power to the Indian Armed Forces for more than two centuries. The OFB is now gearing up to adopt new technologies of industry 4.0 and to exporting defence products to foreign countries. The OFB’s efforts to augment the national war effort against covid-19 is a significant example of commitment to serving the nation while in peace or warfarem” said General Manager, OF Katni and chief guest, Gurudatta Ray while addressing the 220th Ordnance Factories Day function at OFK, on Thursday.
 
The General Manager further asserted that OF Katni has been at the forefront in meeting all requirements during critical war times and in present phase to fight against covid-19 pandemic. He also said, “if we all together set our focus on technical expertise, positive brand image, increased R&D, customer satisfaction and strategic approach then we will pave a way to great success. The function was attended by the officers, head of sections, unions and association representatives, members of JCM-III & IV, Works Committee and employees of the factory and allied establishments. As part of the programme, General Manager, Gurudatta Ray, unfurled the flag and released the colourful balloons to mark the occasion.
 
He bestowed the Employee of the Year and Month award to employees for their outstanding contribution in defence production. S.C. Tripathi, Chargeman of Electrical Maintenance section, has been feted with Best Employee of the Year award. Tihis was followed by a prize ceremony where dependents of the employees who have made notable achievement and performance in the field of academics, sports and other cultural activities were duly felicitated. On this occasion, S. K. Yadav, JGM, conveyed the greetings by reading out the message of C.S. Vishwakarma, DGOF/Chairman, received from OFB, Hqrs Kolkata. Since most of the related celebrations and events were not organised following the Covid-19 protocol. So the Ordnance Factories Day was celebrated.
