Need to introduce uniform
THE 10 points demand letter submitted by various pensioners unions affiliated to Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS). The demands are very reasonable and pending since the very long time. BMS support the demands and requests the Government to resolve the issues at the earliest.
At present there are number of pension schemes in force. There is no uniformity. Some are getting pension over Rs 50,000 per month whereas lakh of pensioners are getting pension just Rs 1,000 under EPS 95 Scheme. EPS 95 Scheme needs to be scraped immediately. Instead they should be covered under old pension scheme.
The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh through its resolution passed in working Committee Meeting held on February 15 to February 17, 2019 at Patliputra demands uniform pension scheme i.e., 50 per cent of last pay drawn with DA applicable from time to time.
The demands are as follows-- Pension should be 50 percent of last drawn salary. Link all types of pensions with dearness allowance (DA) cost of living index. Scrap new pension scheme and restart old pension scheme to all State and Central Government employees.
For interim relief minimum pension under EPS 95 should be Rs 5,000 and DA with Ayushmaan Bharat medical facility. Better health scheme to all types of pensioners in old age.
Also, revise pension to all old pensioners in insurance, banking sector. Constitute high power committee to review above demands periodically involving stake holders and take them into confidence, informs a press release by Vasant Pimpalapure, All India General Secretary of Varishta Nagrik Parisangh.
