Ordnance Factories officers and employees during an oath-taking campaign.
Staff Reporter :
Officers and employees of different unions and associations staged demonstration and actively participated in Shapath Diwas programme to register protest against corporatisation of Ordnance Factories, on Tuesday. During the demonstration, office-bearers and members of CDRA, Indian Ordnance Factories Gazetted Officers Association (IOFGOA), All India Association of Non-Gazetted Officers (AIANGO), Clerical Association, Supervisor Association and several other employees’ unions and associations attended mass oath programme at Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK), Grey Iron Foundry (GIF), Gun Carriage Factory (GCG) and Vehicle Factory Jabalpur. Officers and employees administered oath that the Government policy of corporatisation of Ordnance Factories is not a viable option rather it can further lead to privatisation and closer/selling out because strategic structure of OFB organisation will not allow it to survive with corporate ethics and functions due to which it must be holistically restructured keeping under the existing Government setup to achieve to desired objectives and targets of GOI/DPP. As per our viable proposal for restructuring of OFB keeping under existing Government setup OFB should be given more autonomy like Indian Railways, DRDO and DAE etc which shall be very well in the interest of nation and defence preparedness. They pledge that they will oppose the corporatisation of ordnance factories, they are Central Government employees and will to continue as Central Government Employees and to draw salary and pension from the consolidated fund of India. They will oppose for any change of service condition and inalienable right granted by the Constitution of India.
