Teams from Nagpur emerged champions in the recently concluded tennisball cricket tournament. The 19th senior men and women, 12th sub-junior boys and girls and Under-16 State inter-district tennisball cricket competition was organised by Vidarbha Tennisball Cricket Association at St Ursula’s ground, Civil Lines. Nagpur City women won the 19th senior title defeating Washim in the final. Similarly, Nagpur Rural boys clinched the sub-junior title beating Washim in the summit clash.
The senior men title was won by Bhandara while Chandrapur finished second. The sub-junior girls title was lifted by Buldhana while Gondia ended second best. In the final, Nagpur City women defeated Washim by six wickets. Washim scored 41 runs in allotted eight overs. Nagpur’s Vaishnavi Kove and Prachi Gour took three wickets each. In reply, Nagpur City achieved the target in 6.5 overs losing four wickets. Captain Divya Sahu scored 21 runs. For Washim Shruti Raut took two wickets. NMC Sports Committee chief Pramod Chikle was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. Sports Officer of NMC, Piyush Ambulkar was the guest of honour.
