CHAIRMAN of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Sports Committee Pramod Tabhane, after taking charge, has vowed to develop six grounds — one each in all the six MLA constituencies of the city. Tabhane, along with MLA, Cenrtal Nagpur, Vikas Kumbhare; Chairman of Standing Committee, NMC Prakash Bhoyar, Deputy Chairman of Sports Committee Lakhan Yerwar inspected the ground at Aadarsh Vinkar Colony on Friday.

To make the ground an ideal one for sports, it needs a compound wall, a well-levelled field, two electric poles with floodlights, said Kumbhare. He added that there should also be provision of volleyball and badminton courts on the ground. Bhoyar wanted green gym equipment to be set up for senior citizens of the area. The compound wall must have a gate, said Narendra Pathrabe and Bhaskar Parate who live in that locality. Tabhane instructed the concerned officials to act swiftly and start the works as soon as possible.

The concerned ground comes under the Central Nagpur assembly seat. Corporator of Prabhag Number 20 Deepraj Pardikar, Corporator Shakuntala Parbe, Yashashree Nandanwar, NMC’s Sports Officer Piyush Ambulkar and Pramod Gaikwad were present during the inspection.
