Governor urges Central Govt to supply oxygen beds, ambulances

Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting of Governors through video conferencing in view of increasing coronavirus infection and its control in the country. Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uikey also joined the meeting which was also attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In this meeting, Governor Anusuiya Uikey requested the Central Government to supply sufficient number of oxygen beds, ventilators, Remdesivir injections, ambulances as per requirement in Chhattisgarh. She said that at this time saving human life is the primary requirement.

Therefore, the Prime Minister is requested for special package through special funds for the treatment of the poor, as well as provide all the means, so that the people of Chhattisgarh can be saved from the fatal disease like corona. The Governor said that the situation is serious in Chhattisgarh right now. The number of deaths has increased in the recent past. RT-PCR test gets delayed due to lack of sufficient number of labs leading to delay in treatment of patients. Therefore, it is requested that adequate number of testing labs should be arranged in State, so that reports can be provided at the earliest and treatment can be started immediately.
 
The Governor suggested that small private hospitals set up at various places in State have facilities for oxygen beds and should be identified and funded by adding them to a scheme, which will increase the number of oxygenated beds. At the same time, the services of skilled paramedical staff of paramilitary forces should be provided, which will help in treating patients. The Governor urged PM that the message given by the him to the people of the country in the first phase of the corona created an atmosphere of belief among the people. Similarly, message should be given to the public again, so that the people of State.
 
Uikey said that she made visits to other districts, including scheduled areas of State, urging the public to follow guidelines to prevent corona infection. Also services of NCC and NSS cadets, volunteers of Red Cross, are being taken. Also, all universities and students were asked to make the general public aware. She said that she honoured the Corona Warriors for their outstanding work on the occasion of International Women’s Day and encouraged health workers workers, women policemen posted in other online events.
