The ‘Tritiya’ of ‘Baishakh Shukl’ is celebrated as ‘Akshay Tritiya’ (Akti) in Chhattisgarh. This festival is falling on May 14 this year and it marks the practice of donating earthen pots. The purpose of donating earthen pots is to facilitate needy to quench thirst with cold water in summer as earthen pots keep water Chhattisgarh State Power Holding Company Ltd Additional General Manager (Public Relations) Vijay Mishra ‘Amit’ has come up with new ideas to save birds. He has decided to hang used earthen pots in trees and houses so that birds can make their nests. Mishra is of the view that man has unbreakable relationship with the creation of the universe such as trees, plants, and animals. Birds play an important role in making the life of human happy.

That is why scholars say “The birds bring good luck and positive vibes to human life”. These birds not only protect the crops by eating the insects but also carry the pollen of flowers from one flower to another. Many people, ignorant of this, keep beautiful birds in a cage, Mishra said. The bird family plays an important role in grooming human body, mind and wealth. That is why it is wise to keep the birds free instead of keeping them in the cage.

Many bird species like gouraya, squirrel, owl, mountain myna easily make their shelter in hanging earthen pots around your house, said Mishra who has so far arranged hundreds of shelter for birds. Mishra said that the life of a human being away from birds has become dull today. It is harm for humanity to keep distance from birds like cuckoo, crow, fakta, bulbul, pigeon, he said. The best way to save the endangered birds is to stop capturing them in cage, start planting trees in the courtyard, hand pots for their shelter around your houses, Mishra said.
