Three films of Dhiraal to be released on OTT platform

Determination can take you places. In case of Prem Dhiraal, determination and passion, have taken him from Chandrapur to the glamour world. After tasting success in singing, he is now stepping in the world of acting with three films at a time! The films, in which he is playing lead role, were to be released on screens but COVID-19 busted the plan. Now, all these three films of Prem Dhiraal are set for release on over the top (OTT) platform. Prem Dhiraal hails from Chandrapur. He has been living in Nagpur for last 10 years. His father Kisan Dhiraal, a labourer, passed away when Prem was only five years old. His mother sold vegetables and took care of five children. Prem started singing in various orchestras, stage-shows, and rock bands to help his mother.

With his hard work and passion, he found his place gradually. He also holds Guinness World Record for 815 hours of singing continuously. Prem Dhiraal, who is in his thirties, journey from Chandrapur to the glamour world has been based on his firm belief, “Do it yourself. Work hard to realise your dream.” His father was a good flautist while his mother sang well. This developed his love for singing at an early age. Later, his albums were released by reputed music companies like T-Series, Shemaroo, Ultra Bollywood. “Ultra Bollywood owner Jayesh Veera encouraged me to try my luck in the field of acting as he was impressed with my looks and built. My friend Sayeed Akhtar gave me the opportunity for the first time in ‘Bha’. And, I stepped into the world of acting,” he said.

The shooting and post-production of one Marathi film ‘Bha’, and two Hindi films ‘Samakal’ and ‘Chutiyapa’ was completed before COVID-19 lockdown. These were set for release in theaters. But, due to COVID-19, all three films got stuck and release was postponed. Taking the opportunity thrown open by OTT platforms, Prem Dhiraal and his team have decided to release these three films on OTT platform in next couple of weeks.

In the film ‘Bha’, Dhiraal plays the role of a poor farmer’s son. In the psycho-thriller ‘Samakal’, he plays the role of a patient. ‘Chutiyapa’ is a comedy film. “All three films will also be screened at various film festivals,” said Dhiraal. Among the actors, Imran Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are Prem Dhiraal’s favourites. But, he is a big fan of Dilip Kumar. “I watched a lot of Dilip Kumar’s movies since my childhood. It was then that the seeds of acting were sown in my mind. Acting takes a lot of hard work, I have realised through experience. But, hard work can yield results,” he added.
