The long-pending development of Sant Hirdaram Nagar Railway Station has finally been done by the Bhopal Railway Division administration to make the station premises green and clean, as well as equipped with various passenger-friendly facilities. In connection with the expansion of passenger facilities at the station, in the difficult situation of COVID-19 in the year 2020, the work of providing shed- Cover of Platform (COP) on both platforms for the convenience of passengers during the summer, rain and cold days, was done.

 

Due to lack of coach guidance system at the station, passengers used to have difficulty in reaching their coaches, but due to lack of funds, this work could not be done, for this, by getting the funds. On platform number 1 and 2 new coach guidance system and bogie display boards have been installed, this allows the position of the coach in the system to be displayed before the train arrives on the platform, allowing passengers to reach their designated compartment on time and board the car. The Foot Overhead Bridge (FOB), which was quite old, was refurbished on both platforms of the station. The platform number-1, which was a medium height platform, was made a high level platform now has a very good facility for passengers.

 

Similarly, the surface of platform number-2 was also improved for the convenience of passengers. Along with this, the lighting system at the station was also improved. Dividers have been made for smooth management of passenger traffic in the circulating area of the station. DRM Uday Borwankar has given this credit to his team, who made extensive improvements in this difficult period at station that has been neglected for many years. The state government has also approved the work of ROB for this area, which is yet to begin, the DRM added.
