AFTER becoming the second hoopster from Nagpur after Siya Deodhar to get a chance to study in US, young Shomira Bidaye is looking forward to experience a quality mix of academics and sports at the prestigious Woodside Priory School, Portola Valley, California, USA. Young Shomira, a player of Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana (SNG), after proving her worth in both academics and extra-curricular activities received a letter from Woodside Priory School for a place in the Woodside Priory Residential Programme for the 2021-2022 school year without any financial aid. “It is a prestigious institute and I will be honoured to get a place in the Woodside programme.
I am grateful to the school management for finding me eligible for the programme and would like to thank the coaches in guiding me through this process,” Shomira said while talking to this scribe. Shomira had to study hard to get admission into the school. She made it possible on her academics as well as sporting capabilities and now will join the 11th grade class this year. “I am looking forward to the Boarding experience. Studying in the US is a dream and I will do my best to uphold the school’s high standards. At the same time I will give my best shot in the basketball arena whenever I get a chance to play,” Shomira added.
