Provide free of cost LPG to corona victims: Consumer forum to Government

Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Kalyan Parishad (consumer forum) has raised various demands for corona victims. In a joint letter signed by Ashwin Mehadia, President of the Parishad, Devendra Tiwari, General Secretary and Pratap Motwani has demanded three oil marketing companies (OMCs) to provide insurance cover to consumers. In the present situation, lakhs of people are suffering from corona diseases and are discovering newer ways to protect their health. The letter has been dashed off to Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Petroleum, Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Nitin Raut, Maharashtra Minister for Energy, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
 
In the letter, the Parishad has demanded them to provide free gas and insurance cover. An amount of Rs 5 lakh should be given to the relatives of the corona deceased persons. The Parishad also demanded Maharashtra Government to wave off electric charges for a period of one year. These companies should take the problems seriously into consideration and lend a helping hand. Madhuri Kedar, Vikhyat Senai, Chandra Shekhar, Subhash Agrawal, Ramesh Lalwani, Ranjita Navghare, Sunita Pandey, Dilip Narwadia, Vinayak Deshmukh, Ravi Gadge Patil have also supported the demand.
