DTE brings many changes in post-HSC diploma admissions

Along with PCMB, now CS, IT, Zoology, Biotech, Agri, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship too will help students to get admission in Direct Second year in Diploma Engineering
 
 
With a view to encourage students to go for Diploma engineering even after HSC, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has brought several changes in the eligibiligy criterion to admissions to Direct Second year Diploma Engineering or post HSC Diploma. Under the guidance of Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, Director of Technical Education Dr Abhay Wagh prepared those guidelines.
 
As per the eligibility criterion for the admissions to Diploma Engineering that was applicable till last year, students had to pass Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology in HSC. This year for the admissions to academic year 2021-22, students have been given lot of choices. Apart from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, students will have alternative of the group of subjects. Students passed HSC with any three subjects out of - Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practice, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subjects, Agriculture, Engieering Graphics, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship, these subjects also, are eligible to take admission to direct second year Diploma engineering. EWS seats of 1st year valid in 2nd year too The seats meant for Economically Backward Class (EWS) if remained vacant in first year, will be added to the reserved quota for the same category in second year. This will increase the EWS quota Direct second year Diploma Engineering.

‘No Dispute’ for students of Mah-Karnataka border Till now students staying in the Maharashtra-Karnataka border areas were facing the issues of disputed border areas. They had to submit the certificate in that regard. Now Government has removed the work ‘Disputed’ paving way for the students of those areas to take part in admission process without any hassle.
 
MHCET in July or August Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHCET) to be conducted for the admissions to first year engineering course will be held either in July or in August, informed Dr Abhay Wagh, Director of Technical Education. The application submission has evoked huge response as over 85,000 students got themselves registered till now when the last date is July 8, 2021 with late fee.
 
No CET for first year Diploma Engg With School Education department has cancelled the SSC and HSC examinations in Maharashtra, the assessment would be madeon the internal performance of the students. The Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Eduction would do the assessment and distribute the certificate and marksheet to the students. Considering the aspect of assessment, Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant has decided not to conduct Common Entrance Test for the admissions to Diploma Engineering course.
