SIX athletes of Pandit Bachharaj Vyas Vidyalaya were felicitated by the school authorities for being selected for the Khelo India SAI athletics coaching centre. A total of 10 athletes were selected by Khelo India -SAI selectors. Six athletes, who are also members of Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal made the cut into the team. Also, coach Sayali Waghmare, is a former student of Pt Vyas Vidyalaya. Apart from six Pt Vyas athletes, two are from RS Mundle School while one each from Bhagwati Girls High School and JP English Medium School, Ramna Maruti.

 

The selected athletes are 100 metres bronze medal winner in national meet Om Itkelwar, Vidita Meshram, Arya Kore, Atharva Khope, Janvi Hirulkar and West Zone Athletics Championships’ gold medal winner Mitali Bhoyar. Similarly, another gold medal winner of West Zone Championship Bhavyashree Mahalle, School Games bronze medal winner Akansha Soudiya, NKM’s junior most athlete Prutha Godbole and Raghav Thakre. All are athletes of Nav Maharashtra Krida Mandal.

 

President of Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal Sanjay Shirpurkar, Working President Adv Upendra Joshi, Principal Archana Joshi, Dadoji Konddeo Award winner Bhau Kane, Dhananjay Kane, Shirish Bhagat, Prashant Jagtap, Maharashtra Athletics Association’s Senior Joint Secretary Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Late Dadasaheb Balpande College of Pharmacy Director Manoj Balpande, Principal of Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education Dr Sharda Naidu and others congratulated all the selected players. All the athletes are trained by NIS coach Jitendra Ghordadekar, and assistant coach Sayali Waghmare, Avanti Hatwar at IDCPE ground.
