IN A joint venture, Academy of Physical Education, NMD College, Gondia; Principal Arunrao Kalode Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur and Manoharbhai Patel College, Sakoli conducted national-level one day Dr Sanjay Dachewar memorial seminar recently.
After the COVID pandemic, people were hit hard by black fungus (mucormycosis) and physical education departments of the host colleges decided to have a seminar on the same subject for benefit of sportspersons as well as general public. As many as 535 persons took part in the seminar.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Sanjay Dudhe inaugurated the seminar and in his speech informed that black fungus was a dreaded disease and various ways to prevent and sure it.
Main speaker of the seminar Neurosurgeon Dr Vaibhav Nasre spoke in detail on symptoms, precautions and remedies available for mucormycosis.
Chief guest on the occasion Senate Member of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) Kishorbhau Umathe and Dr Gauri Pradhan were prominently present.
Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Physical Education and Sports Department, RTMNU also spoke on the subject.
Organising Secretary Dr DR Satpute, Principal of Principal Arunrao Kalode Mahavidyalaya and also a Senate Member guided the participants.
President of the Organising Committee Dr Anilkumar Karwande spoke on the life of Dr Dachewar.
Principal Dr Pramod Katkar presided over the main function.
Dr Mrutyunjay Singh presided over the concluding programme. Dr Trivedi of MB Patel College, Dr Sharda Mahajan and Dr Darshan Desai were among those who were present on the occasion.
Dr Amit Tembhurne and Dr Pravin Kumar conducted the proceedings while the duo of Dr Nitin Jangitwar and Dr Sunil Chavan proposed a vote of thanks.
