CET _1  H x W:

To be held on OMR basis, the 100-mark CET to be conducted off-line
Though the School Education Department in Maharashtra has cancelled the examinations of SSC and promoted the students, the trouble has not ended for the parents. Now, the department has decided to hold Common Entrance Test (CET) for SSC pass students seeking admissions to Class XI.
The Government had already thought about conducting CET. It only wanted that students should know about CET in advance so that they should be able to get themselves prepared.
The Department has constituted a committee to be headed by Education Commissioner with Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education as Member-Secretary. The members include Chairman of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Director of State Educational Research and Training Council, Director of Balbharati and Commissioner of Examination Council.
The CET will be common to all students. The students who passed SSC, conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, those passed through Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), those cleared Class X examination conducted by The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CISCE), all the international boards should have to clear the CET to get admissions to junior colleges affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
The basis of CET will be the curriculum of Class X. The question paper of CET will have questions from English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences each of 25 marks. Examination will be conducted off-line. The format of question paper will be Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions and examination will be on OMR basis.
The CET will be of 100 marks and will have only one question paper. Students will get the time of 2 hours to write the paper. The CET will be conducted to be monitored by Education Commissioner, Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and Maharashtra State Examination Council. The list of Examination Centres would be announced later.
Since students have already paid the examination fees for Class X examination, they will not have to pay separate fees for CET. But the students who passed Std X examination from CBSE or CISCE have to pay the CET fees.
The result of Class X is
likely to be declared during July 15 so the CET will be conducted within two weeks of the results declared.
