Under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, thoughts of revolutionaries, patriots and great men who made their important contribution in the Indian freedom struggle should reach the youth through literature. This will inculcate nationalism and love for country in them. This was stated by Minister of Tourism, Culture and Spirituality Usha Thakur while reviewing the activities of Marathi, Sindhi, Bhojpuri Sahitya and Urdu Academy in Mantralaya. She said that cultural activities and programs should be organized not only in major cities but in all districts and towns of the state. Along with upgrading the literature of Marathi, Sindhi, Bhojpuri and Urdu, translate them into Hindi language as well. This will bridge the conceptual gap between languages.

 

While discussing the activities of Marathi Sahitya Akademi, she directed that a state level program should be organized on August 18 at the Samadhi of Bajirao Peshwa at Ravarkhedi located in Khargone. The tomb site will be developed as a tourist destination. Along with this, on the death anniversary of great revolutionary Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on August 1, translate the thoughts of his wonderful literature 'Gita Rahasya' in simple language. These thoughts of Gita Rahasya should be conveyed to the students through social and digital media. This will make the students aware of their duties and responsibilities towards the Nation.

 

She directed to document the cultural heritage like old temples, Garhi of Marathi families settled in different districts over the years and their culture. In various universities of the state, the HOD of Marathi Literature Department should be called and held a meeting regarding the upgradation of Marathi literature. She said that Sindhi literature should be translated from Arabic script into Devanagari script. With this more and more people will be able to get acquainted with Sindhi literature and Sindhi literature will be upgraded.
