TIGER Group of Adventure celebrated the World Bicycle Day with zeal on Thursday. Commemorating the day, the group took out a rally that started at Tukadoji Square. The cyclists, spreading messages of better health and environment through cycling, pedalled through Ajni Railway station, Ambajhari Lake, Telangkhedi Garden, Seminary Hills, Aakashwani Square, Sitabuldi, Lokmat Square, Wanjari Nagar Water Tank and back to Tukadoji Square. Ironman and an avid swimmer Ravindra Tarare was chief guest of the function. Speaking on various advantages of cycling Tarare said, “Cycling is a complete exercise.
For good health one must use cycle as much as possible. It is the cheapest mode of transport and is environment friendly.” A guest of honour on the occasion, Dr Pravin Yerne said, “Daily use of cycling helps in reducing mental stress. Heart and arteries benefit in a big way if one uses cycle regularly. It is one the fastest fat burning exercises.” Noted NIS swimming coach Sanjay Batwe conducted the proceedings. Arvind Mahakalkar introduced the guests while Prakash Nikam proposed a vote of thanks. Prasad distribution amongst the members marked conclusion of the function.
