IGKV invites applications for start-ups by June 22

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Agri-Business Incubation and Production Centre of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur has invited applications from young entrepreneurs and businessmen for start-ups by June 22.
 
As per information received, more details in this connection and application format could be availed from the website www.igkvrabi.com. The applications for the start-ups are invited under initiatives ‘Abhinav 3.0’ and ‘Udbhav 3.0’. Aiming to promote businesses and start-ups in the field of agriculture and its allied sectors, the incubation centre of IGKV has started programmes namely ‘Abhinav 3.0’ and ‘Udbhav 3.0’. Under Abhinav 3.0, an encouragement amount of Rs 5 lakh is being given to entrepreneurs for start-up in agriculture and allied sectors. Similarly, under Udbhav programme, those entrepreneurs who have any initial product related to start-up are provided financial assistance of up to Rs 25 lakh for its commercialisation.
 
It is to be mentioned here that Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) is being run by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (Government of India) to promote innovation and agricultural entrepreneurship development. Under this scheme, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Agribusiness Incubator Centre has been established at IGKV.
 
“The incubation centre is providing basic infrastructural facilities, technical assistance, guidance and skill development training to entrepreneurs desire to establish a start-up. The incubation centre is providing necessary help and guidance to the entrepreneurs for financial assistance and market linkage. Within a period of 2 years of programme, NCB IGKV has managed to establish around 85 agri-based start-ups successfully,” said Chief Executive Officer of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Agri-Business Incubation and Production Centre Dr Hulas Pathak.

To inspect ongoing works, Registrar of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur Dr Prabhakar Singh has visited Agricultural College Raipur based horticulture field.
 
Meanwhile, the registrar collected detailed information about five varieties of Mango, named as Chhattisgarh Swarnaprabha, Chhattisgarh Pawan, Chhattisgarh Raj, Chhattisgarh Gaurav and Chhattisgarh Aachar, and the ongoing research works. On the occasion, Dr Singh instructed senior scientist Dr G L Sharma to ensure preparation of saplings of these varieties and its availability to farmers.
 
It is noteworthy that after extensive research carried out by the university, these five new varieties of mango have been developed. The development of these varieties was done under the guidance of registrar and fruit scientist Dr Singh. Of these five varieties, Chhattisgarh Swarnaprabha and Chhattisgarh Raj are regular fruiting varieties while Chhattisgarh Aachar is a variety suitable for making pickles. On this occasion, Director Research, Dr R K Bajpai, Dean of Agriculture College Raipur Dr M P Thakur, Head of Department of Fruit Science, Dr Vijay Kumar were present.
