Green Care Society India, with the participation of villagers wrapped around 400-year-old banyan tree and gave a message to the Government to preserve this tree and add it to the list of tourism
 
 
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Green Care Society India Chhattisgarh in collaboration with APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation Rameswaram Tamil Nadu, World Environment Council Maharashtra and Community Welfare Foundation Maharashtra organised a webinar on the theme ‘Ecosystem Re-imagining, Restoration’ for the year 2021-22. Green Care Society India with the participation of villagers in Bamansara of Komakhan area of Bagbahra block, wrapped around 400-year-old banyan tree and gave a message to the government to preserve this tree and add it to the list of tourism. Society President Vishwanath Panigrahi said tribute was paid to environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna, the founder of Chipko Andolan.
 
Village residents Neeraj Yadav, Devlal, Rikhiram Patel, Bhuvneshwar Sahu, Ashkumar Thakur, Harish Yadav participated in the Chipko movement under the leadership of senior member of the organization Vijay Sharma. Senior officials of the society and teacher Amujuri Biswanath, Ishwari Prasad Nayak, Rudra Vijay Udgirarwar from Dantewada district planted saplings and gave the message to spread greenery for environmental protection. Vijay Sharma from Komakhan, Govardhan Lal Baghel from Tedinara Ganjar, Pandit Tikeshwar Mishra from Baitari, Pandit Bhagirathi Dubey from Tendukona, Yogesh Badhi from Mohgaon, Ishwari Prasad Nayak from Geedam, Kunal Singh Senapati participated in the plantation programme organised on the occasion.
