JULY 11 is celebrated as ‘Runners Day’ in memory of the legendary Shivnath Singh in whose name the national marathon record of 2 hours 12 minutes, set in 1978, still stands. To commemorate the day Nagpur Runners & Riders organised a short run. About 100 runners participated in the run. The runners were divided in two batches of 50 each. The run started from High Court Square to Japanese Garden Square-Walkers Street-Ladies Club Sq-Laxmibhavan Square and back to High Court Square.

A warm up and cool down session was conducted before and after the run by Dr Kevin Agrawal. Sangita Shilledar, Go IronMan finisher from Gurugram, also participated in the run. After the run Dr Agrawal, Navneet Khatri, Dr Anil Jawahirani, Dr Shantanu Sengupta and Satish Gujaran (Mumbai) were felicitated by Soodesh Jhawar, Sangita Shilledar, Kalyani Satija, Srilekha Ravi respectively. Each one is an expert in his respective field and all were guest speakers in the series of National Webinars which were organised by Team NRR in last couple of months.

Satish Gujaran, who is from Mumbai, could not attend the run. Ashish Agrawal collected the memento on his behalf. Looking at the enthusiastic response by the runners, NRR has decided to organise a 15kms run on August 15, 2021 on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. The details of the run will be shared soon, states press release. Mitesh Rambhia, Ashish Agrawal, Sandeep Maheshwari, Manoj Agrawal, Dinesh Naidu, Surjit Bhasin, Nurul Hak, Rajesh Datar, Nikhil Bajoria, Aditya Bhaiya and others worked hard to make the event a success.
