AMERICAN Oncology Institute (AOI) at Nangia Speciality Hospital will begin administering the Russian vaccine ‘Sputnik V’, from July 14, 2021, 9 am to 4 pm. The vaccine costs Rs 1,145 per dose and two doses are given 21 days apart. People must pre-register for Sputnik V via the Cowin application as on-the-spot registration and walk-in facilities are currently restricted. For each of the two shots, Sputnik uses a different vector. This provides immunity for a longer period of time than vaccines that use the same delivery mechanism for both shots.
Dr Shravan Kumar Enumula, Facility Director, American Oncology Institute (AOI) at Nangia Speciality Hospital said, “We are committed to ensure safety and we have taken all necessary measures to make the vaccination drive a success. However, we recommend even after being immunised continue to mask up, maintain physical distance and adhere to other COVID protocols.”
