Manjiri Alone hails from Saoner village in Nandgaon Khandeshwar tehsil of the district. Her father is clerk at Waman Maharaj Vidyalaya, Saoner and mother is a housewife. She has been regularly practicising at Eklavya Archery Academy for last 3 years.
MANJIRI Alone, a talented young archer of Eklavya Archery Academy, Nandgaon Khandeshwar, and a the standard 9th student of Eklavya Gurukul School has been selected in Indian Youth Archery team for the World Youth Archery Competition scheduled to be held in Poland between August 9 and 15. She has been selected on first position in Indian team after the selection trials held at Sonipat in Haryana between July 8 and 13. Manjiri Alone is currently practicising for International Archery Competition at the Indian team’s practice camp underway at Sonipat.
Interestingly, Amar Jadhav, NIS Coach, who regularly provided guidance to Archery players at Eklavya Archery Academy, Nandgaon Khandeshwar, also has been appointed as the Indian Youth team coach for the same competition. He is the first person from Nandgaon Khandeshwar tehsil who has been appointed as the coach for International team. She has been regularly practicising at Eklavya Archery Academy for last 3 years. To pursue her dream, Manjiri cancelled her admission in an English medium school and instead took admission at Eklavya Gurukul School. So far, she has represented the State in three national competitions and has won one gold and many other medals.
In her very first selection trial camp, she has succeeded to grab position in the Indian team. Pramod Chandurkar, Secretary of Indian Archery Association, Adv Prashant Deshpande, President of Maharashtra Archery Association and Ganesh Jadhav, Amravati District Sport Officer, immensely co-operated for success of Eklavya Archery Academy. Vilas Marotkar, Anup Kakade, Pavan Jadhav, all the coaches from the academy along with office bearers including Uttam Murade, Rajendra Lawange, Umesh Parsankar, Vishal Dhawale are taking effort at the Academy. Teachers, parents and students from Eklavya Gurukul School and players and others have congratulated Manjiri Alone and Pavan Jadhav for their success.
