NAGPUR City Police and Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) would conduct a collaborative research focusing on the high trend of violent crimes and suggest measures for its prevention after a scientific understanding towards causational factors. Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar and MNLU Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Vijender Kumar on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the research project that would encompass the two institutions through MNLU students, faculty members and police officers.
In addition to this, as per the MoU, active efforts would be made to develop joint training and awareness activities that would be pursued in collaborative spirit. The MoU was signed by the City Police Chief and MNLU Vice-Chancellor in the presence of the core team members, including Associate Professor (Law) Dr Himanshu Pandey, Assistant Professors Dr Rengasamy Stalin and Dr Trisha Mittal, Additional Commissioners of Police Sunil Phulari (Crime), Navinchandra Reddy (North Region), Dr Dilip Zalke (South Region), Deputy Commissioners of Police Vinita Sahu (Zone-II), Lohit Matani (Zone-III), Gajanan Rajmane (Detection) and others.
