Acting on a complaint of allegedly serving hookah and liquor till late night, Raipur Police conducted raids at separate cafés and lounges operational on VIP Road and Telibandha area late last night. According to police sources, the raids were conducted by Telibandha Police Station under the leadership of Civil Lines City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nasar Siddiqui. A police team led by CSP Siddiqui raided Pendulum Sky Lounge operational on VIP Road and found the lounge allegedly serving hookah as well as liquor illegally.

 

Likewise, four-five such places on the VIP Road were raided following the complaint. Meanwhile, police closely checked the cafes operating late at night whether they had an excise license or not. Police team is probing the matter and based on the findings, necessary action will be taken, said a senior police officer. A report in this connection will also be forwarded to the state’s excise department, added the officer.
