IF YOU want to get more opportunities (to play), just deliver in whatever opportunity you get. Fast emerging Vidarbha all-rounder has been delivering almost every game he is playing for Lancaster in the county league in England in his first season. His consistency earned him a spot as a Sub Pro in the playing eleven for Darwen Cricket Club in the Lancashire Cricket League’s JW Lees T20 KO-Final against Clitheroe Cricket Club that was played at Chatburn Road. And, the southpaw did not disappoint.
Opening the innings, Taide hammered 101 from just 58 deliveries sending the ball to ropes on ten occasions and five times over it. Electing to bat in the 20-over game, Darwen piled 205 for 7 wickets. Taide had two fruitful partnerships. He added 56 runs for the fifth wicket with stumper Jordan Clarke (15) and stitched an entertaining 67-run stand with Robert Cobley, who remained not out on 46 from 16 balls. The batsman carted half a dozen sixes and hit one four. In reply, Clitheroe were restricted to 181-7 as Darwen recorded a 24-run win.
