To facilitate the higher secondary school students with online study materials, Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation (CGTBC) has decided to receive online order for NCERT books form class XI and XII students and parents. The Corporation would ensure the books reach the students via post or courier, said CGTBC Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi. Corporation website is www.tbc.cg.nic.in. The postal expenses will be borne by the Corporation. It is worthwhile to mention, the syllabus of NCERT (National Council of Educational Research Training) is being implemented by the School Education Department of Chhattisgarh in Class XI from academic session 2017-2018 and in Class XII from academic session 2018-2019. The Corporation in co-ordination with State Council of Educational Research Training (SCERT) has printed 24 subjects of Class XI and 13 subjects of Class XII.

 

These books are available for sale in six depots of the corporation such as Raipur, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Rajnandgaon and Jagdalpur. Apart from this, these books are also available with more than hundred registered vendors of the Corporation located in different areas of State. The contents of these textbooks published by Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation are completely based on NCERT pattern. The quality of the content and papers are at par with the guides or books of private publishers available in the market.

 

These books are also used by students preparing for competitive exams. If these textbooks published by Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation are received by the school, students, parents or anyone else directly from the corporation’s depot, then a discount of fifteen percent is given in the price of each textbook. Trivedi said that Eight Lakh Ninety Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-eight books were sold by the Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation in the academic session 2019-2020, due to which the corporation got six crore fifteen lakh sixty one thousand thirteen rupees. Similarly, in the academic session 2020-2021, one lakh twenty nine thousand seventy four books were sold, due to which the corporation got ninety nine lakh thirty three thousand six hundred and ninety nine. Seventy seven thousand nine hundred seventy seven books were sold in the academic session 2021-2022, due to which the corporation got rupees fifty three lakh forty one thousand four hundred and eighty rupees. At present, 8,99,122 books of 43 subjects are available for sale in the book stores of the Corporation, whose face value is around 8,24,69,099.
